Hi, I’m Juliene!

Like many people, I was an artist as a kid - always crafting, drawing, and painting. (Thanks Mom for all your support and encouragement!)

Then, like many people, as I grew older and started accumulating more responsibilities, I stopped painting.

After graduating college and getting my first “real job”, I became depressed, angry with life, and lost. I didn’t even recognize myself anymore. I spent years pursuing random entrepreneurial endeavors in hopes I could quit my job. Each attempt was a failure as I became more and more desperate to find my old awesome self that seemed nowhere to be found in this adult world.

Eventually, the answer was obvious - I simply needed to pick my paintbrush back up. So I did.

Best. Decision. Ever.

Now, I can truly say I am happier and healthier than ever - phew, it feels so good!

Some cool things that have happened on my journey are my murals have won awards (yep I paint small and big!), my work is represented in a gallery, and I’ve grown a beautiful creative community of 35k+ where we fall in love with painting together and constantly uplevel our skills and confidence!

One of the ways I help people uplevel their painting skills is by teaching them about color and how to mix it. My digital course called The Color Mixing Lab helps people transform their color mixing skills so the painting process is fun and joyful, instead of frustrating and muddy. 

My goal with my teachings is to help others pick their paintbrush up, too. Painting has been proven to promote overall mental and physical wellness - from calming our nervous system to improving the connection between our brain hemispheres. Painting lets us sink into this moment and be present. Painting helps us become better people - overcoming fear of failure, and increasing our confidence. Painting connects us to the ancients who stamped their hands on the walls of caves, and leaves something special for our future generations as well.
